Ioannis (John) Soulis
I was born in Zakinthos and graduated from the Medical School of the University of Athens with Honors. I did my army service as a reserve army assistant surgeon officer of Health for 28 months, during which period I obtained an 18-month specialty in general surgery at both the General Prefectural Hospital of Samos and the General Prefectural Hospital of Pyrgos (province of Ilia). I completed my obligatory countryside service at the Community Clinic of Pantokrator in Zakinthos and I served as a paid trainee assistant at the ENT Clinic of the University of Athens at “Hypokration Hospital”, obtaining the specialty of the otolaryngologist.
Also, I served for one year and a half as a trainee otolaryngologist at the “Agia Sofia” Children’s Hospital of Athens. Since October 1984, I have been working as a surgeon otolaryngologist in Zakynthos. Since 1984, I have worked at the General Prefectural Hospital of Zakynthos performing a large number of ENT operations and actively contributing to the establishment of an ENT clinic, which has been in operation until today. In addition, since the National System of Health was established, I have been working as an otolaryngologist at my private surgery in the city of Zakynthos. Since there was no private clinic in the County of Zakynthos, for fifteen years I performed a large number of ENT operations on my patients from Zakynthos at the “Hypokratis” Private Clinic of Patras. I am trained in ENT allergology and immunology and an active member of both the European and Greek Society of ENT Allergology and Immunology. I have written, as well as participated in, many medical works which were published in magazines or announced in medical conferences.
I actively participate in ENT medical seminars and conferences in Greece and abroad on a regular basis. In 1995, I was trained by Diamant Medical Equipment LTD company in ENT surgery with the use of ultrasound technology (Crystal Ultrasound Surgical). Since 1995, using ultrasound technology, I have successfully performed hundreds of operations of my specialty which mainly had to do with the restoration of the nasal breathing (restoration of nasal septum deviation, hypertrophy of nasal turbinates, nasal polyps, adhesions, etc), solving tonsil related problems, as well as curing snoring and sleep apnea. With this correct and experienced use of ultrasounds in ENT surgery, with more often than not local anesthesia, a large number of ENT surgical problems can be solved painlessly, bloodlessly, with no relapses or discomfort for the patient who can return to his/her work very soon.
